Do you know all the benefits of exercising ? Of course we know working out is good. But I wanted to remind everyone of 2 things. #1- Exercising helps improve brain function. It is proven that physically active people are more productive at work. When you exercise chemicals get released in your brain that help you focus and because of that we see increased productivity at work. #2 - It is a stress reliever. Again exercising releases certain chemicals that help alleviate stress. In the case of our fitness kickboxing classes, what better way to get get rid of stress then to hit something :) We have gloves on when we hit the bags so you can't hurt your hand. Its great! That is all for today but these are 2 very important things to remember about working out.
Now that it is getting hotter it is important to remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Think about how much you sweat in class. You have to replace all that fluid that you lost. And before that, you have to have that fluid in your body to sweat it out. Loading up on water right before class isn't as good as drinking water consistently throughout the day. I want to make sure all my kickboxers are super ready for classes and don't get sick from not drinking enough water.
I was just talking to some students the other day and they reminded me about last year when we were the runner up for the best in delco. After only 5 short years of being opened we were the runner up. I was happy and excited that this happened, but I was more proud that me and our staff have been able to help enough people to make that happen. We love what we do. We do not work do much with everyone to win a award or because it is just a job. This is what we love to do. Thank you all for those votes and maybe this we will win. If we don't, its ok, we will just continue the same awesome classes as always :)
Burning calories is what you hear all the time and this is the key to losing weight or burning fat. Your body needs energy to work and we call our bodies energy, calories. Keeping your heart rate up throughout your kickboxing class will ensure you get the maximum results from your class. Our instructors encourage and push you to keep moving during the entire class. Even doing the punches and kicks slower is better then standing still or sitting. Once you get the that point when you feel like you have to sit down, that is the point where you make the most progress. It takes time to learn how to get there and pace yourself so you can get the maximum calorie burn from your kickboxing class. It is definitely not easy, but its worth it.
