Someone recently came in for their 1st class and after class said they loved it. She asked me what she should expect to see from the class. What kind of results would she get. I told her that since the class is a good mix of cardio and strengthening that she would notice clothing sizes start to drop. You might see a decrease in weight. However because we are working on building tone muscle, you might not see your weight go down it may actually go up a little, but you will notice you have more energy and your clothes fitting a bit looser. You will notice the changes in your strength during class where you were once only able to hold a pushup position you can now actually do a push up.
Everyone is sore after classes. Usually you feel it the worst 2 days after your class with us. So here are a few tips to help get rid of that sore feeling faster. #1 Drink water. Drinking water is not the magical cure for feeling sore but it will help flush out all the waste in your muscles that are making you feel sore. #2 Stretch. Stretching will help loosen up the muscle and stop it from feeling so tense and in turn causing you so much pain. You will have to stretch several times throughout the day. #3 Do some cardio. Getting your heart rate up and you blood pumping will also help to flush out the waste in your muscles that is causing you pain. Do little jogging in place, jog up the stairs instead of taking the elevator haha. #4 Stretch after that little bit of cardio :) These little things will help you get rid of that stiff feeling and get you back into kicking shape just in time for your next class. Have a great day!
Here we go again. I know you have probably heard me talk about this but I feel it is really important. When you write something down in a schedule or a calendar you have to do it. But if you don't write it down you may or may not do it. Think about it, why do you have a to do list at home? Do you you use a calendar or schedule at work to keep track of your meeting s or tasks that have to be done? Ok, so it makes sense to have a to do list or a schedule for your fitness. If you write it down it is set in stone and you must do it. I write everything down on my to do list and I have set times throughout the week that I workout and train. You should to :)
This is one thing that we do very well. I like to change up our drills from time to time to keep it fresh and fun. Each year I like to do a drill called heart breaker around Valentines day. It is a lot of fun, it will leave you very sore, and all you need is a piece of paper. In this case the piece of paper is in the shape of a heart :) Now if we do this drill every day it will get boring. Bu when you you mix it in with everything else it is a blast.
Its time for a workout! Our classes always provide a good challenge to help get you in the best shape of your life. We
always change it up with jump ropes and medicine balls and partner exercises. We keep you moving from start to finish. Check out on of our classes on youtube. ---> youtu.be/0k3BtL3BrJo We have another exciting, fun, and painful drill we will be doing in classes this week. All I can tell you is A B C. That is it. We always have to keep our workouts fresh and fun. That is one thing we pride ourselves on. I want to give each of my students are great workout that they will never get bored of. Don't miss class this week :)
Having a goal is great. But unless you write it down, set a date you want to accomplish it by, make an action plan, and pick a date to start working on it, then it is just a wish. I love when people have goals because it makes them work harder in class. They have a date in mind and they will literally work their butt off to reach that goal. So in 2018 take some time to sit down and set a timeline to reach your goals. Set a start date for each goal. Make a specific plan of action for what you will do to reach that goal. This will help you tremendously :)
It is important to stay on track with your kickboxing classes. We all know when we stick to a routine it is a lot easier to keep going when you don't feel like it. If you take some time off it may be difficult to "get back in the groove". Trust me, taking action and taking that first step and making yourself get back into it is the hardest. But after that you will build up momentum and it will be smooth sailing. My overall thought for right now is I know taking that first action step is difficult, but once you do it is easy. Think about cleaning your house. We have all been there on the weekends and you want to relax. It is almost painful to get up and start cleaning. But once you do you get in a groove and before you know it 5 hours have gone by and it felt like nothing. Then your glad you did it, right? :) Of course you are. I am looking forward to seeing everyone back in class this week. Happy New Year everyone.
How many different ways can you do punches and kicks? You will be surprised! One thing I hear very often from students is they like how each class is different. So we use the same punches and kicks. We do some of the same drills in each class. Some people like a routine so you don't have to think to much you just get to workout. But we do it in a different way almost each class so it is new and fun. Our instructors are constantly refreshing their memory looking back at drills we have not done in a while so we keep a steady flow of new material for you guys. Remember if you are not a student then all you need is $20 to try 3 classes. Thats it! Call today Or click that giant yellow button to the right of the page.
