You would think breathing is something we all know how to do. Well when it comes to working out we sometimes forget haha. No one forgets to breath in. But you can not breath in unless you breath out. So during a class if you do a punching combination on the bag and you do not breath out you then have to try and quickly breath out and then in before you do the combination again. This usually results in people "holding their breath." Anyone that lifts weights will tell you that is a bad idea. So when you are doing our combinations on the bag we work on breathing out each time we hit the bag. This was at the end of the combination we have already taken out breath out, so we can can now breath in. Out with the bad and in with the good :) Keep this breathing in minf next time your in class. Have a marvelous monday.
Positive thinking is super important in life. It takes a lot of positive attitude to stick to a routine workout schedule. There will be days where you feel tired or there might be things going on in life that can unmotivated you and make you feel like not working out. But surrounding yourself with positive people, listening to motivational material, and keeping negative thinking and negative talk out of your head will help keep you on the right track in the right state of mind to get the most out of your workout and to keep you on a routine schedule. Never underestimate the power of positive attitude :)
'Dont hold back during your class. It is important to push yourself to your max and then try to go a little further. Im not saying you should work yourself to the point where you fall down. But I want you to challenge yourself and your endurance. Not for the entire class, but during the drills on the bag try to challenge yourself by doing the combination as fast as you can a couple times. You might be really winded after that, so maybe you slow it up just a little bit to catch your breath. But it is important to keep moving to keep your heart rate up for maximum calorie burn. Challenge yourself to kick the bag harder then you think you can. Or try to kick higher then you think you can. In order to become stronger, faster, or more flexible, we have to step outside our comfort zone and push our limits. It is painful, your muscles will be sore, but they will grow stronger. If you feel that muscle pain after class, then you know you did it :) Keep this in mind as you are in class next time.
